How long should your roof last?
There are three important things to consider when choosing a roofing material to withstand Hawaii’s demanding climate:
- Durability - Metal roofing provides building owners an alternative to organic materials that dry out and degrade over time. In addition to its proven ability to withstand Hawaii’s unique climate, metal roofing is highly wind-resistant and is non-combustible.
- Easy to maintain – Metal roofing is not damaged by mold and mildew, and can be easily maintained. Other more porous materials allow spores to take hold, which over time will weaken your roof. In addition, tile and shingle roofs become brittle and difficult to walk on. Conversely, metal roofs are not porous or brittle and are easy to maintain.
- Good for the environment – CMR’s metal roofing is environmentally friendly in several important ways. Its Ultra-Cool coatings are Energy-Star compliant and offer the same heat-reflective properties with dark colors as it does with light colors. This saves energy, and saves you money, when cooling the building. Also, a large percentage of materials used in the manufacturing of the coiled steel are from recycled metal.
