September 12-22, 2012
at La’i ‘Opua in Kailua-Kona
Volunteers needed! Everyone is welcome! There are jobs for those with construction experience and also important jobs for those without experience. See below for more information and contact Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii to volunteer.
What is the BLITZ BUILD? Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii is building five homes in ten days at La’i ‘Opua in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (right across from Kealakehe High School). It will take place from September 12 through September 22, 2012.
How can we be a part of it? There are many ways you can be a part of this Blitz Build: Monetary Sponsorship, In-kind Donations, Lunch Sponsorship, Build Volunteers, Medical Volunteers, Registration Volunteers, Hospitality Volunteers, plus Traffic/Parking and Security volunteers.
We will need volunteers in a variety of areas – carpentry, electrical, drywall, plumbing, painting, concrete, roofing, landscaping – at every skill level. Meals will be provided for at least 300 people every day at the build. We are in need of businesses/groups that would like to donate monetary/in-kind to our lunch fund or may be interested in donating a meal. We are looking for simple lunches – sandwiches, chili and rice, or pizzas are just some examples.
HPM is a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity and is a proud sponsor of this event, contributing the pre-engineered roof trusses for all five homes.
How can I sign up? If you are interested in signing up for the Blitz Build, please complete the Blitz Build volunteer form (http://www.habitatwesthawaii.org/new/node/12) and return it to Habitat for review. For more information, call the Habitat office at 331-8010.
