We wanted to know how Hawai`i Professionals and Do-It-Yourself’ers’ BUILD BETTER, so we created the “Pic Ur Perfect Project Photo Contest” to do just that!
Over the course of November, we collected photos for our two categories and posted them on our Facebook page. Those who generated the most votes would win a $500 HPM gift card!
We received a total of over 1,000 votes during a two week period! Thank you everyone who participated. We’re excited to finally announce our winners:
Professional Category – AULI`I CONSTRUCTION
Auli’i Construction submitted three spectacular projects. Of their three, their private residential project generated the most votes. Congrats!
“This private residential project entailed the complete gut and remodel of an existing kitchen. Various upgrades were made to modernize space such as the crisp, clean-lined cabinetry, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and the installation of Cambria countertops and engineered hardwood floors; small gems of convenience were installed such as hidden vertical electrical outlets built into the countertops. The open floor plan allowed for the kitchen space to subtly spill over into the surrounding living area which invites guests to participate in the dining experience. Quality appliances such as the Bosch 5-burner stove and Kitchen Aid double oven helped to round out the kitchen and make it feel like a fully functional and user friendly room.”
Materials Used: Gutters, countertops, lumber, plumbing fixtures, flooring (ceramic tile/ hardwood), paint, doors, framing & finishing hardware
Do-It-Yourself Category – CASSIE DASILVA
Cassie submitted a refinishing project of a 30-year old dresser. Her project generated over 350 votes alone! Congratulations Cassie!
“Total refinishing of a 30-year old dresser from my boyfriend’s childhood room.”
Materials Used: 80 grit medium sand paper, ebony wood stain, brushed copper hardware, spray sealant, plus white, chocolate, and pale green acrylic paint
Again, we want to thank everyone who submitted their projects and everyone who voted. Stay tuned for our next “Pic Ur Perfect Project Photo Contest!”
