I first came to Hilo in 1989 for a two week vacation from Colorado. The first morning I drove down town and it was love at first sight. In fact, I never left. Hilo has a certain charm and I am thrilled to see the wonderful improvements.

Would love to see old Hilo town get a new paint job. Hilo town is quaint and has so much character, a very special place with so much history. Not many towns have survived Tsunami’s. Hilo deserves some new paint to brighter her up.

Come along, join the crowd–visit my Aloha land. Take a plane or a boat–travel any way you can. See the smiling faces of the many races–you’ll be smiling too. You will want to linger–learn to do the hula–make some whoopie too. Start the day, wear a lei, and a colored muumuu. Hear the crowd sing aloud aloha nui to you.

For there’s no place on earth, where friends prove their worth–than in HILO, MY HOME TOWN.

People in Hilo paint their homes more often because we are on the Pacific Ocean and the salt water erodes the paint–so we must paint more often.

Mahalo for Benjamin Moore paint we always use.
