Unaccounted-For Individuals
Maui County still needs your help identifying individuals reported unaccounted for following the Lahaina wildfire disaster. The validated list of names is available at mauinuistrong.info/unaccountedfor. If you recognize a name on the list and know the person to be safe, or have additional information that may help locate them, please contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at (808) 566-4300 or HN-COMMAND-POST@ic.fbi.gov. To provide a DNA sample, or for information regarding those unaccounted for, families may call (808) 270-7771.
Anyone wishing to report an individual who is still unaccounted for is asked to email unaccounted@mpd.net and provide the following information:
- Person reporting: first and last name, contact information, and relationship with the unaccounted for individual.
- Unaccounted individual: first and last name, age or date of birth, last known location, and last known physical address of residence.
Effective Saturday, 9/9/23 The Family Assistance Center (FAC) will move from the Hyatt Regency's Monarchy Ballroom to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center, or DRC, located at the Lahaina Civic Center.
The Lahaina DRC is open daily from 8 AM to 7 PM. Shuttles operating between Lahaina-area hotels and the Family Assistance Center will begin service to the Lahaina DRC on Saturday, 9/9/23. The Lahaina DRC is located at the Lahaina Civic Center Gymnasium, 1840 Honoapiilani Highway.
The FAC and American Red Cross will continue to provide service, by appointment only, to families of those who are deceased and hospitalized. To schedule an appointment for services, families may call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
If you live on a neighbor island or the continental U.S., are the immediate family member of a person missing as the result of the Maui wildfires, and you wish to provide a DNA sample to assist, please call the FBI Honolulu Division at (808) 566-4300 or email HN-COMMAND-POST@ic.fbi.gov.
DNA samples are only for identification of wildfire victims and survivors, and will not be stored or used for any other purpose.
The FAC has received reports about Maui community members receiving calls from individuals or organizations claiming to be with “DNA Services.” These telephone calls are scams, and anyone receiving them should hang up immediately and report them to the Maui Police Department’s non-emergency number at (808) 244-6400.

Kaʻahumanu Ave. Pilina Building, Kahului.

Pros, Sign up with FEMA
As the recovery effort on Maui continues, new federal contract opportunities are available from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for local companies to do business with FEMA. These opportunities could allow your business to work directly and impact those affected by the recent wildfires.
Register with the System for Award Management (SAM).
What is SAM?
The System for Award Management (SAM) is combining federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one system. Official Federal Government registration is processed via SAM.
For any questions regarding the SAM registration process, please contact the SAM Service Desk at 1-866-606-8220.
Submission of the Industry Liaison Program Vendor Profile (ILP) form.
Click here to download the ILP form and email the completed form to fema-industry@fema.dhs.gov.
The vendor profile form can serve as supplemental market research for the agency. Any information that you share should not be proprietary or sensitive in nature. Please be specific about how your products and/or service can support FEMA’s mission.
Please Be Aware of Scams:
-
FEMA does not charge any company a basic registration fee. There are companies that replicate services of Federal Government entities and there are typically fees associated with their services. Most Federal Government services, if not all, are free of charge. Always make it a practice to reach out to the appropriate Federal agency first to inquire about the validity of the service, specifically if a fee is associated with it.
Monitor the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) site. This free web based portal allows vendors to review Federal Procurement Opportunities over $25,000.
